Hour 2
The first two hours of the 2009 Rolex 24 are now complete. Andy Wallace drove the No. 2 Gentleman Jack Pontiac Crawford to 13th in the running order in that time period before pitting on lap 65 for fuel, tires and a driver change. During the in-lap, Wallace told crew chief Catherine Crawford Wallace to tell co-driver Rob Finlay to take care in the dogleg as he viewed it to be very slippery.
Andy Wallace's view of those first two hours:
"The biggest issue for us at the start is the high starting tire pressure (22 psi) we have to work with. If you touch any pedals at all, you spin the wheels. But, this is my 21st 24 Hours (of Daytona) so I know you don't win the race by being in the fence. If you've got a problem, you mustn't panic. You must just stay with it. The second set (of tires) didn't go up quite as much because the sun is going down so maybe later tonight we'll have a better car. Otherwise, mechanically, the car is good and we just have to bide our time and see where we are in the morning."
