Andy Wallace rejoins RML for Le Mans and Selected Events in 2010
Andy is back with the RML team for the Le Mans 24 Hours and selected events throughout the 2010 Le Mans Series Calendar. He will be joining the AD Group teams permanent driver line-up of Tommy Erdos and Mike Newton. The three won the LMP2 class together at Le Mans in 2006, which was a second win for the RML squad. They will be piloting the Lola B08/80 powered by the HPD LM-V8 engine which is new for this year. They have also changed rubber to run on Dunlops for the first time.
The three made their debut at the season opener at Paul Ricard for the 8 hour enduro. With Erdos qualifying the car 4th, the trio put the car on the podium for a 3rd place finish. In an effort to learn more about the new tire package the #25 RML AD Group car participated in a Dunlop tire test at the Hungaroring in the midst of the volcanic ash travel crisis in Europe. This forced the team to make the journey by car. Many miles and 7 countries later they had a good day and half of testing to help understand the new tires and get some laps in the car. Andy did not begrudge the drive, especially in Germany! Andy will also be driving in HSR in Jim Rogers Audi R8, that he drove in period, alongside sportscar legend Bill Adam.
We thank all of you for your continued support!
